Post Processing

The Keep workflow is for photos you want to send to an editor or preserve for post-processing.

Setup

  1. Open Settings and go to Post-Processing.
  2. Turn on Enable Post-Processing Workflow.
  3. Set Photo Editor to your preferred editor application.

The Workflow

  1. Move to Keep: Move a photo (or selection) to the Keep section using the keyboard shortcut K or by dragging and dropping.
  2. Editor Handoff: The app prepares the file for editing and launches the configured external photo editor.
  3. Editing: Perform your edits in the external application.
  4. Completion: After editing and closing the editor, the app detects changes. If enabled in settings, it will offer rename options.

File Handling & Advanced Features

HEIC and Live Photos

When post-processing is enabled, moving a HEIC or HEIF photo to Keep triggers an automatic conversion to JPG for editing while preserving the original source file. Companion MOV files are handled as part of this workflow.

Sony ARW and JPG Pairing

If a JPG has a matching Sony ARW file:

  • Moving the JPG to Keep sends the JPG for editing, while the ARW companion is preserved separately.
  • Moving the JPG out of Keep restores the paired original when applicable.

Renaming Templates

The app uses placeholders to rename files after post-processing:

  • ${baseName}: Filename without extension
  • ${extension}: File extension
  • ${timestamp}: App-supplied timestamp value

Default Templates:

  • SOOC: ${baseName} (SOOC).${extension}
  • Modified: ${baseName} (Modified).${extension}
